IK Rating VS Impact Energy

The IK rating is defined in the IEC 62262 standard and provides a scale for classifying the degrees of protection provided by enclosures against external mechanical impacts.

The levels of protection against impact energy are as follows:

IK00: No protection

IK01: Protection against 0.14 joules

IK02: Protection against 0.2 joules

IK03: Protection against 0.35 joules

IK04: Protection against 0.5 joules

IK05: Protection against 0.7 joules

IK06: Protection against 1 joule

IK07: Protection against 2 joules

IK08: Protection against 5 joules

IK09: Protection against 10 joules

IK10: Protection against 20 joules
